no progress

we got quite a snowstorm 2 days ago, no work is going to be done this weekend.

we didnt do much work this weekend and if it wasnt for piles of dirt there would be hardly any change to notice. due to soils conditions and mainly shallow water level at about 8 feet below, but also because we are trying to stay within budget we will not have any basement or crawlspace.  to take full advantage of radiant heating we are going for concrete slab, in our case monolithic slab. therefore additional dirt.

raking, part 2 / staking

also Jana did some more raking to the rest of the land.
staking is pretty fun except it can get a little frustrating when you cant get your corners to form right angles. it took us a while to figure out. than it went pretty smooth. the house layout is roughly  staked and ready for excavating.

funny how we filled over 20 bags and the lot still  looks about same as when we begun.
we did some major cleanup today. mostly raking all the garbage, leaves and small branches.  filling up plastic bags was definitely not fun.
